What to expect when you call ReNewIt by Kurtis for a kitchen or bath refresh

At ReNewIt by Kurtis, we know that great communication is as important as our quality products and craftsmanship. We make sure that, leading up to a cabinet refacing or redooring, our customers are clear on the timeline and process ahead.

Andy Costigan, reface project manager and measure technician here at ReNewIt by Kurtis, understands every step of the process.

It all starts with our sales team. We’ll discuss a homeowner’s vision and goals for the project. Customers then choose to have their kitchen and bathrooms updated with cabinet refacing, redooring or refinishing. New backsplash and countertops may also be part of the project. Our expert sales representatives are available to help pick out colors, door styles and hardware.

Once the contract is in place, a new project is scheduled. Andy takes over as the project manager. In his other role as a measure technician, Andy visits the job site to measure for materials and walk through the contract with the customer, confirming information and considering all the goals they want to accomplish. He then draws up a plan for how the project will come together.

“I make sure it can be done and pulled off in a way that would come out looking great - in a way that everything fits together and functions,” he says. “We build a bridge between the dream and reality.”

ReNewIt offers a smarter way to update your kitchen and bathroom with precision-crafted cabinet refacing and expert home solutions.

With his project manager hat on, Andy informs the homeowner of what comes next. He ensures that the schedule is set, using software that lays out a calendar for the project phases.

Scheduling time is contingent on several factors, including customer availability, lead time from vendors and when ReNewIt’s team is available to complete the work. Andy says the timeline of each project varies based on its scope and magnitude.

Refacing generally takes three days to a week, while projects that involve a new backsplash and countertops may take two to three weeks. ReNewIt professionals won’t leave a homeowner without the use of a kitchen or bath space for longer than absolutely necessary.

When the start date is about a week out, Andy calls the customer to walk through the project plan and timeline. He reiterates information from the initial meeting and covers everything from project prep — reminding customers to clear cabinets and countertops before installers arrive — to the plan for disposal.

Andy’s dual roles mean he can’t be on-site for most project work but he is in contact with the installers and checks in with the customer after a day or two.

“I want to make sure we’re off on the right foot, to make sure if there are any pending concerns that they know that I'm there. That they know we care,” he says.
