ReNewIt Today: This Northville Township homeowner lightened up her kitchen

Mary Pratt Miller’s took her dark kitchen into the light with ReNewIt by Kurtis – and she shares the experience start to finish.

When Mary Pratt Miller decided it was time to refresh her kitchen, she turned to ReNewIt by Kurtis, thanks to a recommendation from a friend. What started as a plan to update her upper cabinets became a transformation that brought new light and comfort to her Northville Township home, along with standout service.

“In the kitchen, I had all very dark cabinets and an island, and because I don't have a good window in there, it was very dark,” Mary says.

To brighten the space, ReNewIt refaced the upper cabinets in a soft eggshell finish, creating contrast while keeping the original layout intact.

Within a week of calling ReNewIt, a sales representative visited Mary’s home. “I was very pleased with the person who came out and talked about what would be done,” she says. “They were very transparent. I liked that a lot.”

Mary also appreciated how easy the team made scheduling. “I was able to schedule a surgery knowing there would be no conflict. They gave me exact dates so I could plan everything. There were no surprises at all.”

Work began with the careful removal of the cabinet doors, labeling everything and safely storing the hardware. Within a couple weeks, a worker carefully prepped the space for painting the cabinets.

“He taped everything off and put up plastic barriers. He was very careful,” she says.

When the install team returned with the refinished cabinet doors days later, the process was quick and went smoothly.

“They did very nice work,” Mary says. “I’ve never had anything done like that before, and I was very pleased. The workers were very clean, very neat.”

Mary couldn’t be happier with the results. “I love it,” she says. It’s so much brighter. I had all the family over last weekend and everyone was oohing and ahhing.”

While she’s thrilled with her kitchen’s new look, Mary eagerly stresses how impressed she is with the team behind the project. “Each person did their job and did it well,” she says. “If I ever have anything like this done again, I would call them in a heartbeat.”
